Hey everyone and welcome to a new weekly segment where I take the time to do a deep dive into some newer or new to me podcasts and give you a quick run down on what to expect and the content within, as well as some opinion and feelings to boot.
This week I take a look into Placer Unsolved, a true crime podcast that as far as I can tell is fairly new with their first episode coming out in May of last year.
The first episode I listened to kind of threw me off because being the conspiracy elitist that I am, I’m not to keen on Cryptid sightings, however once I got past that episode I got into one of my new loves… True Crime.
Placer Unsolved receives a pass though as the description touts folk lore and lost treasure. The unsolved mystery is what started to bring me in…
What I do like about this podcast is that they have written up transcripts and all the evidence presented in each episode into a article accompanying the audio. I’ll leave you link to those at the bottom of each description.
Also I’m gonna be implementing a colored rating to each episode, from green to red, one thing to note however is that a red rating does not mean a bad episode, merely the green are my favorite ones and yellow I’m kind of impartial.

Here we have an episode that features days gone by, an old man was shot in a garden execution style, yet there doesn’t seem to be any witnesses or suspects, also towards the end the host brings up a zodiac theory which I thought was interesting.

A series of ghost stories around the beginning and some local lore surronding a lake and possible crpytid in the second half from a local fisherman, his account might be just what you suspect.
Full Disclosure: This one only receives a red rating because it wasn’t my favorite of the five presented due to the ghost stories at the front which I often pair with UFO sightings and am extremely skeptical of, I can be persuaded with a personal experience however right now that thing isn’t for me.

This latest episode from Placer Unsolved is probably the best one so far, the host lays down the evidence and attacks the thing from all angles however I’m no closer to any of the theories of what happened to Susan Jacobson. That’s the way I like my mystery, nice and “who dun it?”.
